GSFC University celebrated 72nd Republic Day

GSFC University celebrated 72nd Republic Day at newly developed Amphi theatre at University Campus. Shri P K Taneja, IAS ( Retd.), President – GSFC University unfurled the National Flag in presence of Provost, Campus Director, Deans, teaching and non-teaching staff. In the beginning, Shri P K Taneja, IAS (Retd.) inaugurated the newly developed Amphitheatre. Dr. Nikhil Zaveri, Provost welcomed the President by offering a flower bouquet.

 

In his Republic Day speech, Mr P K Taneja said celebration of Republic Day is an exhibit of a strong nation with culturally rich diversity. Today, India is the largest and strongest democratic nation due to our strong constitution. He said, when we are celebrating 72nd Republic Day, we have many achievements like Indian CamNational Satellite System (INSAT), launching of an indigenously made nuclear submarine -INS Arihant , Solar Alliance etc to our credit as a nation.

  

He also informed that, in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, currently, India is driving the world’s largest vaccination program. India has the largest number of FDA approved vaccine manufacturing plants outside USA. Today, large number of countries are looking at India for Vaccine.

 

He added that our own state of Gujarat is also not lagging behind in terms of achievements. Gujarat is number 1 in the start-up ranking as Best Performer State in the whole country successively two times. Gujarat’s contribution to India is phenomenal. 18.4% of India’s Industrial production takes place in Gujarat. 20% of India’s exports are from Gujarat. Gujarat produces India’s 23% of Milk, 25.3% of cotton, and 40% of silk, 62% of petrochemical products, 80% of processed diamonds, and 85% of sliver jewellery. 8 out of 10 diamonds in the world are polished in Surat. Thus, as a state and as a nation, we are very strong and still emerging stronger.

 

Talking about GSFC University, he said, we, as a University, are a young University, and emerging to be a University of Excellence with its beautiful campus, rich curriculum, strong connect with industry, and holistic culture – all aim at making students Industry-ready. In a short time, we have made our presence felt in the state.

 

He expressed that University has many milestones to achieve in the years to come to serve the community of learners in the best possible manner. Therefore, we need to raise our quality bar, and rise to the occasion.

 

He acknowledged GSFC Ltd. for extending the patronage with CSR support as well as Human Resource support.

On this occasion, Students with in-house band of GSFC University performed few patriotic songs, fourth issue of in-house publication of “Science View” student magazine was released by the worthy hands of President Shri P K Taneja, IAS (Retd.) followed by awarding students with certificates for their performance in Republic Day celebration.
